The Richards - DAR House Museum was built in 1860 in the Italianate style, today offering visitors a way to explore the 19th century culture of America, and especially the South. A cast iron facade on the home's exterior depicts images of the four seasons of the year, while the interior is furnished with many pre-1870 items. Open for guided tours and special seasonal events, it is positioned on the northern side of downtown, less than a mile from the Museum of Mobile.
